CONNECTED FAQ’s
Attending camp is FREE! Thanks to generous support we receive each year from individuals, corporations, and foundations, camps and programs are provided to campers and families free of charge.
Yes! We have iPads at the ready for individuals that need a device to participate in a digital program. Camp will mail it out to you with a return label to send the iPad back once the program ends. To request a device or to inquire about rental iPads, please contact Devin (dryan@camponestep.org).
Camp and program registrations all go through UltraCamp, our registration database. You can create an account in UltraCamp HERE. If you already have an account, you can login and go through the application process to sign up for an open camp or program.
The fun begins! You will receive a confirmation email from UltraCamp confirming the registration is completed. If you do not receive that information, you may not have completed the whole process; please reach out to dryan@camponestep.org if you have this issue. Once registration closes, you will begin to receive information from the Camp One Step team about needed paperwork and other important details. Let’s partner together in the time leading up to camp to make this a great experience for your child!
Each child needs a registration completed through UltraCamp, which includes program-specific questions and a health history. A physical exam, immunization records, and health insurance information is NOT needed for digital participation. If additional information is needed, you will be prompted for that by a Camp One Step team member.
Absolutely! Connected Programs are perfect for wherever your child is with treatment. We’ve had families join from home, vacation, the hospital – really anywhere they have internet access! If your child isn’t feeling well enough to join online during the program, there are also plenty of fun activities to join the fun offline or at a later time.
Yes! We respect children’s varying experiences with cancer and welcome them to apply if they are newly diagnosed, on treatment, off treatment, you name it!
Absolutely! We love expanding our network beyond the Chicago and Milwaukee areas, so we encourage everyone to apply. Connected Digital Programs are a perfect fit for folks who cannot make it in person, but are also well attended by families that do live in the area and just want more time with Camp!
One of the great things about digital programs is that space is not limited! All applications are accepted, so mark your calendar as soon as you register your child!
One of the beauties about digital programming is that it flexes to your schedule. While we love to see all our campers online for each session with their smiling faces on camera, we understand that schedules are busy and your child may not be able to join for every activity. We welcome your child to join for as much as they’re able to, and then have fun offline as well with all the supplies and instructions sent to your home.
Yes! We encourage our community to apply for any and all opportunities throughout the year. Seeing our families in person as well as during Connected programs is a great way to stay engaged all year long!
